Job purpose:
Under the supervision of the Project Manager and in close coordination with the Protection Coordinator, the Team Lead is responsible for the overall field-level management of World Vision's Education in Emergencies and school rehabilitation activities under the ECHO-funded multisectoral action 'Multisectoral Support for the Most Vulnerable Populations in Syria in Aleppo Governorate. The Team Lead supervises and supports the Education Officer, WASH Engineer and other field staff, ensuring that activities are implemented on schedule, to a high technical standard, and in full compliance with donor requirements, national regulations, and World Vision's programmatic and safeguarding standards. The role includes coordinating with schools, local authorities and communities, overseeing quality control and reporting, and ensuring close collaboration with supporting departments (MEAL, Logistics, Finance and Procurement) and with consortium partners implementing activities in Aleppo.
Major Responsibilities
- Lead weekly and monthly planning of field activities, including field visits and coordination with local authorities and school administrations.
- Supervise the Education Officer, WASH Engineer and other field team members, ensuring effective coordination with MEAL, Logistics, Finance and Procurement.
- Ensure full compliance with donor (ECHO) requirements, national regulations, and World Vision's technical and safeguarding standards across all field activities.
- Review and endorse Purchase Requests (PRs), Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and procurement requests prepared by field staff, in line with the approved budget and log frame.
- Monitor project sites regularly to assess activity quality, technical soundness, and linkages between education, WASH and protection components.
- Follow up on financial documentation and procurement processes with the relevant departments until invoices are fully closed.
- Support the preparation of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and final narrative reports.
- Facilitate regular communication and coordination with community committees, parents and school administrations to ensure activities remain relevant, accepted and well-coordinated.
- Provide daily coordination and technical follow-up with the field team and other staff, including the MEAL team, to ensure efficiency and technical quality of program activities.
- Ensure that consortium partners' activities in Aleppo are aligned with project standards, agreed work plans and donor requirements, in close coordination with the Protection Coordinator.
- Coordinate with centre/learning-space managers and existing staff to organize and oversee day-to-day implementation of activities.
- Identify implementation bottlenecks and propose practical solutions to the Project Manager.
- Provide oversight and coordination during partner-led field activities to ensure smooth collaboration, quality and accountability.
- Manage day-to-day coordination with relevant local authorities and government counterparts.
- Identify operational challenges across the field team and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and quality of delivery.
- Maintain regular communication with the Project Manager to ensure strategic alignment between field implementation and overall project objectives.
Knowledge/Qualifications for the Role
Required Professional Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in humanitarian project management, with a proven track record of leading Education in Emergencies and/or infrastructure rehabilitation interventions.
- At least 5 years in a supervisory or technical leadership role, managing multidisciplinary field teams and ensuring quality implementation in complex humanitarian contexts.
Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification:
- A university degree or diploma in business administration, social sciences, psychology, sociology, public administration, or any other relevant field.
- Additional certifications in project coordination, facility management, humanitarian operations, or protection principles are highly desirable.
- Training in safeguarding, child protection, or gender-based violence (GBV) is an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ECHO, humanitarian standards, Sphere, or Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS) is preferred.
- Prior engagement with NGOs, UN agencies, or community-based organizations is an advantage.
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:
- Computer skills, in particular email, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Fluency in Arabic required, and ability to write and speak English.
- Good report writing skills.
- Detailed oriented and able to verify data quality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good contextual knowledge of the local community and social/cultural constraints, realities and organizational relationships. Inspires trust within/outside of the organization.
- Develops high levels of credibility and accountability.
- Stays open to internal and external feedback.

Language Requirements:
- Excellent written and fluent in speaking Arabic.
- Good command of English in terms of speaking, reading, and writing.
Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement:
- The position requires 100% of the time to be field-based.
- Position requires willingness and ability to continue functioning during a crisis, including during a World Vision response to a man-made or natural disaster, and availability to work outside regular hours when required.
