About this Role

World Vision Syria Response is seeking an Advocacy and Communications Manager to lead advocacy and communications strategy design and implementation. The manager will oversee a team of 3–4 staff, leverage World Vision's presence and evidence base, and advocate externally for children and vulnerable communities in Syria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Syria Response Communications and Advocacy Strategy and annual workplan
  • Provide strategic direction for external engagement, media, public communications, digital communications, and visibility initiatives
  • Develop and lead annual integrated communications and advocacy plans including digital, social media, key messaging, and campaign moments
  • Lead adaptation and implementation of global World Vision campaigns (e.g. ENOUGH) for Syria context
  • Collaborate with Resource Development and Donor Engagement teams to integrate advocacy and communications into funding proposals
  • Represent the Syria Response communications function in regional, global, and emergency coordination structures
  • Manage and build capacity of a team of communications and advocacy staff based in Syria and Amman

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in advocacy and/or communications with an international NGO or UN agency
  • Proven experience managing communications strategies in humanitarian contexts
  • Strong understanding of Syrian political and humanitarian context
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic is an asset
  • Experience with media relations, social media management, and donor communications
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
  • Must be eligible to work in Syria
