About this Role

World Vision Syria Response is seeking an Advocacy Officer to support the implementation of its advocacy strategy. The officer will assist with policy analysis, advocacy messaging, stakeholder engagement, campaign activities, youth councils, and child participation initiatives, ensuring advocacy work is informed by programme evidence and child rights priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing advocacy strategies aligned with World Vision's global priorities and Syria-specific needs
  • Support advocacy messaging, position papers, and briefings for internal and external audiences
  • Organize and participate in meetings, events, and dialogues with stakeholders including UN agencies and INGOs
  • Conduct research on child rights, development policies, and humanitarian issues
  • Collaborate on the design and delivery of advocacy campaigns including the ENOUGH campaign
  • Support child-focused advocacy initiatives such as youth councils and child participation mechanisms
  • Work closely with the communications team to develop media materials and social media content

Requirements

  • Degree in Political Science, International Relations, Social Sciences, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in advocacy, policy, or humanitarian coordination roles
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills
  • Knowledge of Syrian humanitarian context and child rights frameworks
  • Fluency in Arabic and English (both required)
  • Experience engaging with UN coordination mechanisms is an advantage
  • Must be eligible to work in Syria
