About this Role

UNFPA Syria seeks a national consultant to create and implement a Gender Transformative Toolkit tailored to Syria's context. The consultancy spans 3 months (60 working days), combining remote and in-person work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct literature reviews and stakeholder consultations with civil society and women-led organisations
  • Produce an inception report and develop the toolkit framework with practical guidance and audit tools
  • Develop implementation guides and monitoring mechanisms
  • Deliver training to approximately 10 organisations and conduct organisational capacity assessments
  • Produce all deliverables in both Arabic and English

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in gender equality work
  • Expertise in gender equality frameworks and experience developing training materials
  • Knowledge of the Syrian context and experience working with women-led organisations
  • Fluency in Arabic and English

Contract: Individual Consultancy, 60 working days over 3 months | Deadline: 31 May 2026
