About this Role

Relief International is looking for a Social Assistant to support community-based social and protection activities in Deir ez-Zor. The Social Assistant will work closely with beneficiaries, community volunteers, and programme staff to facilitate social cohesion activities, support case identification, and assist in data collection and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of community-based PSS, social cohesion, and protection activities in targeted areas of Deir ez-Zor
  • Support identification of vulnerable individuals and families for programme assistance and appropriate referrals
  • Facilitate community outreach, awareness sessions, and group activities under the supervision of the PSS Officer
  • Collect, enter, and maintain beneficiary data accurately in programme databases
  • Support the distribution of relief items and documentation of assistance provided
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with community leaders, local authorities, and community volunteers
  • Assist in the preparation of weekly activity and field reports
  • Adhere to Relief International's Code of Conduct and protection policies at all times

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Community Development, or a related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with an NGO in community-based programming
  • Strong community engagement and communication skills
  • Basic data entry and computer skills (MS Word and Excel)
  • Good Arabic communication skills; basic English is an advantage
  • Resident of or willingness to work in Deir ez-Zor
  • Syrian national required for this position
