Senior Driver — Damascus

UNOPS Syria is seeking a reliable and experienced Senior Driver to provide transportation services for the Damascus Country Office. The Senior Driver will ensure the safe and efficient movement of UNOPS staff and official visitors, maintaining UNOPS vehicles in excellent condition and adhering to all UNOPS security and transport protocols.

• Provide safe, reliable, and punctual transportation for UNOPS staff, consultants, and official visitors in Damascus and across Syria as required
• Maintain assigned vehicles in excellent mechanical condition through regular checks, cleaning, and timely reporting of technical issues
• Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks, mileage records, and fuel consumption reports
• Ensure all vehicle documentation (insurance, registration, permits) is current and valid
• Follow all UNOPS security protocols including security clearances, movement tracking, and reporting
• Support logistics operations including document delivery and light administrative errands as required
• Assist in airport pickups and drop-offs for international visitors and staff

• Valid Syrian driving licence (minimum 5 years of professional driving experience)
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a driver with a UN agency, international NGO, or diplomatic mission
• Good knowledge of Damascus roads, traffic conditions, and checkpoint procedures
• Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge; ability to perform minor repairs
• Basic English communication skills
• Reliability, punctuality, and a professional demeanour
• Flexibility to work outside regular hours when required
