About this Role

INTERSOS Syria is hiring a Grants Officer for a 6-month contract (June–December 2026) based in Damascus with field visits to Hama and Idlib. The Grants Officer will support grant management, donor reporting, and proposal development for INTERSOS programmes funded by institutional donors including ECHO and AICS. Monthly compensation: €2,258–€2,447.

Responsibilities

  • Manage grant procedures and maintain an up-to-date database of donor guidelines relevant to the Syria mission
  • Support the Grants and Reporting Manager in monitoring and reporting on institutional and private grant spending
  • Assist with the development and review of donor proposals, project budgets, and narrative reports
  • Upload and archive project documentation on INTERSOS's internal management platform (IMP)
  • Maintain comprehensive online information management and filing systems for all active grants
  • Track reporting deadlines and ensure all reports are submitted on time and to donor standards
  • Assist with research and information gathering for new programme proposals
  • Compile success stories and communications content for internal and external audiences

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in International Affairs, Development Studies, or a related social science field
  • Minimum 2 years of grants management or administrative experience in humanitarian programming
  • Strong English writing and editing skills; proposal and report writing experience required
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Italian is an advantage
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to meet tight deadlines
  • Experience with ECHO or AICS-funded programmes is an asset
