About this Role
UNDP Syria seeks a Communications and Advocacy Specialist (NPSA-10) to plan and manage communications and advocacy strategies for a UN Joint Programme addressing Syria's humanitarian and recovery needs. The role bridges programmatic work with public communication, donor engagement, and policy advocacy at national and international levels.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement communications and advocacy strategies for the UN Joint Programme
- Produce high-quality content including press releases, stories, reports, and social media materials
- Manage media relations and respond to journalist enquiries
- Design and produce visual materials using Adobe Creative Cloud tools
- Coordinate communications with UN agency partners and government counterparts
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of communications activities
- Support donor visibility and reporting requirements
Requirements
- University degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or related field
- Minimum 5–7 years experience in communications, preferably within the UN system or international NGOs
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro)
- Demonstrated ability to produce compelling content for diverse audiences
- Fluent Arabic and English — both written and verbal required
- Knowledge of Syria's political and humanitarian context preferred
